A great book collection on learning to Sew & Quilt for Kids and Teens!

Quilting began as a plain and practical way to sew for warmth and protection. Today quilt making is an art form.
I have been teaching the love of sewing to children for over 25 years.
I have used this wonderful book in my lesson planning and would love to share it with you!
It is filled with clever rhyming and complete directions that children and educators love!

My first sewing machine book introduces the sewing machine as a tool and follows one project, a star, from start to finish.
In the process, the student learns the concepts of a seam allowance, tapering, snips, clips, stitching right sides together and turning the project right side out.
Clever rhymes help children remember rules, and illustrations further help the child understand the concepts.
This is a great book for the beginning hand sewer. The student learns to sew a doll shape together, sew with yarn for the hair and make an outfit for the new doll to where!
My children and i love this book collection of "my firsts". They have made several unique sewing projects and have learned a new skill to last a lifetime!
